Internal medicine is a medical specialty focused exclusively on treating adults. These physicians, also called internists, treat diseases and illnesses that affect all adults, whether it’s chronic illness or short-term care.
Internists are primary care physicians, just like family practitioners (also known as pediatricians). The biggest difference being internists treat adults only, while family practitioners/pediatricians treat both children and adults.
Endocrinology is a field of medicine focused on the study, diagnosis, and treatment of the endocrine system and its glands and hormones. Endocrinologists assess and treat hormone problems and any associated issues or diseases.
Major endocrine glands include the thyroid, pancreas, parathyroid, adrenal, gonad, and pituitary. These glands produce hormones, which regulate critical bodily functions such as growth, metabolism, and reproduction.
In-Home Physician Services
For patients that struggle with securing transportation and find that ambulation can be difficult, we also provide in-home physician visits. Our doctors can come to the comfort of your home and treat you. This allows us to service our clients that would otherwise possibly forgo a doctor visit due to difficulty, inconvenience fees, and scheduling.
Diabetes is a disease of the pancreas gland, which is part of the endocrine system. Our endocrinologist helps people not only manage, but thrive. By educating on diet, exercise, lifestyle changes, and medication management we ensure our patients have the best possible health outcomes.
Women’s health refers to the branch of medicine that focuses on the treatment and diagnosis of diseases and conditions that affect a woman’s physical and emotional well-being. We are focused and specialized in women’s health issues, and we are adamant in our belief that our patients deserve the top of the line care with the upmost compassion and treatment.
A pain management specialist is a physician with special training in evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of all different types of pain. Pain is a wide spectrum of disorders including acute pain, chronic pain, cancer pain and possibly a combination of these. Pain can also arise for many different reasons such as surgery, injury, nerve damage, and metabolic problems such as diabetes.
